Purpose: This entry-level program prepares students for certification at the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level and Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (VA OEMS) EMT level. Students may begin this program without any prerequisite medical knowledge.
Occupational Objectives: This program prepares students for entry into the field of Emergency Medical Services. Completion of this program prepares students for many positions, including EMT, Emergency Department Technician, and Patient Care Technician.
Admission Requirements: Students must meet the general admissions requirements established by the College. Placement testing is not required. Students must apply for this program online at pdc.edu/EMS.
