Title: Assistant Professor of Nursing
Department: Nursing & Allied Health

I began my nursing career as a graduate of Southampton Memorial Hospital’s School of Practical Nursing in 2006. I continued my formal program training with the completion of Paul D. Camp’s Associate Degree in Nursing program in 2009. My pursuit of higher education continued with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. I received my Master’s Degree in December 2015 at Old Dominion University and am currently pursing my PhD in Nursing Education at Virginia Commonwealth University. My professional experience lies primarily in the areas of critical care, geriatrics, and healthcare education.
Education is the key to success and I am very passionate about continuing education. Having had the privilege of learning from some amazing educators in my life, most right here at PDCCC, has allowed me to grow and see the possibilities ahead of me. If I can do the same for my students then my ultimate goal as an educator will be achieved.
I have been a resident in Isle of Wight County for about 8 years. I have one child, a son, who is my entire world. My driving force to continue my education is him; I hope to show him that with hard work and perseverance anything he dreams of is possible.
