Robert L. Tureman, Jr. is Associate Professor of Information Systems Technology for Paul D. Camp Community College at the Suffolk Campus. He joined the college in 1983 after working in computer analysis and software development for System Development Corporation and Data Design Laboratories in Norfolk, Virginia. He holds the Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science, both from Old Dominion University. He was promoted to Associate Professor in August of 2000.
He was named a Chancellor’s Commonwealth Professor for the Virginia Community College System. He has been a summer faculty fellow in the ASEE fellowship program at NASA’s Langley Research Center. He was a recipient in the Competition for Excellence conducted by the League for Innovation in the Community College and IBM Corporation. He also received an honorable mention in the VCCS Technology in Education Awards for his 2006 Cluster Computing project. He has completed numerous grant funded projects and published several papers.
