This Scholarship is available for Spring Semester only.
The Karen Phillips Chase Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of Karen Phillips Chase and her exemplary nursing career. A graduate of Franklin High School and the Louise Obici School of Nursing, Karen had been a registered nurse with the Western Tidewater Health District for over 25 years upon her passing in June 2010. She is remembered as a beautiful person inside and out, always happy, smiling and willing to help others in their time of need. Karen also championed education, encouraging each of her daughters to do their best; and they have lived up to her expectations. After graduating from PDCCC with a two-year degree, Lindsey graduated from Old Dominion University with two bachelor’s degrees and is currently in a Masters program at ODU. Lauren graduated from PDCCC with a two-year degree in Business Administration and Leigh-Ann is currently in her second year at PDCCC and will be transferring to Old Dominion University to become a Special Education teacher.
The Karen Phillips Chase Memorial Scholarship will be available for tuition, books, and other legitimate school needs for students.
