Smithfield-Luter Scholarship

This Scholarship is an ongoing scholarship available for any semester, as funds allow.

The Smithfield-Luter Foundation is proud to provide educational scholarships to the dependent children and grandchildren of full-time and retired employees of Smithfield and our family of companies. You must first apply and be accepted to be awarded a Smithfield-Luter Foundation scholarship.

PDCCC is one of 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System. The College “provides diverse learning opportunities to enhance the quality of life for students and the community.” To achieve this mission, the College provides access to transfer and career/technical courses for nearly 50 colleges, universities, and other programs as well as developmental studies for those not prepared for college-level work. The College pursues a variety of partnerships for the growth and renewal of the service region.

PDCCC classes are often small, encouraging individual attention. Faculty and staff members are dedicated to student success. Instructional technology is current and readily available. Criteria for scholarship

  • Financial need and parent/grandparent at Smithfield or subsidiary company
  • Funding determined by need and other aid awarded

The PDCCC College Scholarship Committee will make selection.
