A capping ceremony held Tuesday evening marked a successful year completed by 17 Paul D. Camp Community College nursing students. The ceremony marks a mid-point for them in the program, as next year they will receive pins and graduate as registered nurses. The event, held at PDCCC’s Regional Workforce Development Center, featured guest speaker Kathy Rogers, labor and delivery nurse at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth.
She spoke about the importance of professionalism and compassion in the nursing field. “One of the fundamentals of nursing is quality care…,” she said. “…Compassion, education and love bring the human element to it.”
