Paul D. Camp Community College’s Office of Student Activities and Student Government Association will host the third annual Women’s Empowerment Summit in recognition of Women’s History Month. The event will take place Saturday, March 8, 2014, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Regional Workforce Development Center.
The summit’s theme is Celebrating Women of Character, Courage and Commitment.”
“Against social convention and often, legal restraints, women have created a legacy that expands the frontiers of possibility for generations to come,” said PDCCC Student Activities Coordinator Dr. MeChelle Blunt. “Women’s lives and their work inspire girls and women to achieve their full potential and encourage boys and men to respect the diversity and depth of women’s experiences.”
Continental breakfast and registration will get underway at 8:30 a.m. The opening session, featuring guest speaker Danielle Williams of Norfolk State University, will begin at 9:00 a.m. Breakout sessions will follow. Vendors and informational booths will be set up for the event as well.
