To express the college’s sincere appreciation to Roger Drake for his invaluable service, Paul D. Camp Community College presented him with a resolution naming him Director Emeritus of the college’s Foundation Board of Directors. Drake was the first foundation board member to be honored with this distinction.
He was involved with PDCCC since its inception on Jan. 7, 1970, bringing leadership to the first Local College Advisory Board as its first board chair. He was a loyal supporter and advocate of the college and Virginia’s Community Colleges, having served on the Local College Board for seven years until 1977, representing the City of Franklin.
Drake provided service to the college as an active and engaged member of the Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation Board of Directors since 1997, and also has provided significant support to the Regional Workforce Development Center with both professional and financial contributions for the betterment of the community.
