Students Win Money for Books
Two students were awarded $100 book scholarships during recent Super Saturday events held at Paul D. Camp Community College.
Marquis Lassiter, 17, of First Baptist Christian School was the winner on the Hobbs Suffolk Campus. The son of Monica Lassiter of Suffolk, he plans to attend Liberty University to study sports management.
Meredith Ellis, 18, a PDCCC dual credit student of Southampton HighSchool, was the recipient of the scholarship on the Franklin Campus. The daughter of Robin and Robert Earl Ellis of Windsor, she plans to attend Old Dominion University.
The Super Saturday events were hosted by PDCCC and sponsored by the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA). The program offered free financial aid workshops and one-on-one assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
