Through lecture, demonstration, and outdoor shooting, this class will teach you techniques to improve the artistic elements of your photography. You will learn to incorporate the rule of thirds, use power points when composing your photograph as well as the power of leading lines. Learn when to use aperture priority and shutter priority. Learn how to see and read light, how to effectively use exposure compensation, when to add flash outdoors, and when to use backlighting and side lighting. We will discuss and practice depth of field techniques to control foreground and background.
Class wrap-up will encompass organizing and archiving images, photo resources, image critiques, and follow-up questions. Each participant will receive a binder of photography handouts to keep for future reference. Expect to leave this class being a picture maker, not a picture taker.
