Paul D. Camp Community College Hosts Black History Month Event Featuring Documentary on Nansemond County’s First African-American Public High School.
The Paul D. Camp Community College Office of Student Activities will host a special event in honor of Black History Month on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. in room 106 at the Hobbs Suffolk Campus, 271 Kenyon Road. The event will feature Mae Burke, a graduate of Nansemond County Training School, and a showing of “Strength through Our Roots,” a documentary about the first African-American public high school in Nansemond County.
