Student Success Symposium

The Chancellor’s College Success Coach Initiative at PDCCC will host the 4th Annual Student Success Symposium on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., at the Regional Workforce Development Center located in Franklin, VA.
 
Please join us for this FREE event as we address issues that include poverty, food and housing insecurity, homelessness, etc.
 
Who should attend? Students, staff, faculty, adjuncts, administrators, policy makers, K-12 institutions, human services providers, community agencies and researchers.

Deadline for submitting applications for Fall 2019 Scholarships

Applications for fall 2019 scholarships at Paul D. Camp Community College will be accepted from Wednesday, February 20, through Wednesday, March 27, at 11:59 p.m.
 
Many scholarships are available for new and continuing students, graduating high school seniors, and high school dual enrollment students.

College Night

A free college planning event geared to assist high school seniors, and sponsored by Educational Credit Management Corporation (ECMC) will be hosted by Paul D. Camp Community College on Wednesday, March 27, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hobbs Suffolk Campus, 271 Kenyon Road.
 
Get college planning tips, a chance to win one of three $250 scholarships to PDCCC (one per household), and enjoy free pizza and beverages.
 
Entrants must be in grades 9-12 and present to win scholarships.
 
Tentative agenda includes:

  • Career exhibits and information sessions — 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Free pizza and beverages — 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.
  • College planning presentations — 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Scholarship drawings — 7:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Interactive Workshop: That Medical Thing

The PDCCC Nursing and Allied Health department is hosting That Medical Thing (#TMT) on Friday, March 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
 
The event is an interactive workshop for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing a healthcare career.
 
Participants will work with PDCCC students in the registered nursing, licensed practical nursing and emergency medical services programs to learn first aid, hand hygiene and airway management.
 
They will also have the opportunity to experience simulation.
 
Thirty spaces will be available for participants.
 
Student must contact their high school career coach to attend.
 
Lunch will be provided.

Spring event will benefit Upward Bound program at PDCCC

This event will be sponsored by the Upward Bound Program via PDCCC Foundation and funds collected will be donated to the Upward Bound Program to assist with student activities.
