Smithfield Foundation Scholarship

This Scholarship is an ongoing scholarship available for any semester, as funds allow.

The Smithfield Foundation is proud to provide educational scholarships to the dependent children and grandchildren of full-time and retired employees of Smithfield Foods and its family of companies. You must first apply and be accepted to be awarded a Smithfield Foundation scholarship.

PDCCC is one of 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System. The College “provides diverse learning opportunities to enhance the quality of life for students and the community.” To achieve this mission, the College provides access to transfer and career/technical courses for nearly 50 colleges, universities, and other programs as well as developmental studies for those not prepared for college-level work. The College pursues a variety of partnerships for the growth and renewal of the service region.

Criteria for scholarship

  • Applicant must have a parent/grandparent that is a full-time or retired employee of Smithfield Foods and its family of companies.
  • Financial need will be considered
  • Funding is determined by student’s need and other aid awarded.

The Office of Institutional Advancement and the Financial Aid Office will determine the amount of award.
