Part 2 – Degrees & Counseling

Academic Degrees and Certificates

  • Paul D. Camp offers a wide variety of degrees and certificates!
  • We offer two types of associate degrees: associate in applied science and associate in arts and science degrees
  • The associate in applied science degrees are:
    • two-year occupational/technical degrees that are hands- on, skill oriented programs that are designed to lead directly to employment.
    • For those already in the workforce, some take these programs to advance in their careers while others take these programs because they want to change their careers.
  • The associate in arts and science degree, also known as transfer degrees, are:
    • designed for students who want to transfer to a four-year college or university after graduating from PDCCC.
    • They can complete approximately half of the classes here that are required for a bachelor’s degree at a four-year school.
    • Students primarily take classes that satisfy general education requirements such as English, math, sciences and the like.

Academic Degrees and Certificates

  • For individuals who want to shorter programs, certificate programs only take 2-3 semesters if enrolled full-time.
  • Career studies certificates are even shorter programs, these programs lead directly to employment and often mesh into longer related-degree programs when someone wants to continue their studies.
  • If you need help deciding which option is best for you, students can find out more about their options by meeting with a professional counselor or an academic advisor.
