The Advanced Placement Option for LPN to ADN is open to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who possess an unencumbered license to practice nursing in the State of Virginia or other compact license state. This option allows for advanced placement into the Fall semester of the second year of the ADN program for all eligible and qualified applicants who successfully complete all of the pre-requisite courses listed below.
The successful student will complete the program in one year. Students will need to make arrangements for work or other responsibilities to devote the appropriate attention to the program’s academic and clinical expectations and rigor.
Admission to the program is not guaranteed. All potential students must:
- Apply to the college
- Apply to the program during the application period (opens September 1st)
- Submit all official transcripts with your application packet
- Score at least a 75 in each category on the HESI Entrance Exam; or provide passing results from any other National Nursing Entrance Exam: ATI TEAS or Kaplan
- Have a GPA of 2.5 for all college-level work
- Must have an unencumbered LPN license in the state of Virginia or compact state
*Priority will be given to students who reside in its service area.
*Hand deliver a complete application packet to Camp’s RN Nursing Program
*do not place your complete application packet under the door, or in the plastic container by room 136K; your complete application packet must be reviewed and stamped by a Nursing Department
