International Paper Franklin Mill – Forklift Operator Certificate Course
“With the recent completion of forklift operator training for employees of International Paper’s Franklin Mill., I want to take the opportunity to thank you for the use of the College’s Workforce Development Center facilities and for the State of Virginia non-credit training monies secured in support of this training.

In all 160 of our employees completed the certificate training, and the feedback received was very good. Based on comments made from training evaluations, employees felt the training information was relevant and applicable to their job and that the presentation of the information was very good. They felt the instructor was knowledgeable and effectively engaged participants.

As you may know, safety surrounding motorized equipment and driver safety are two key areas of focus for International Paper. The expertise our team members gained from the forklift training will be critical to their day-to-day personal safety and to the safe operation of the mill.

We really enjoyed having the class in the Technology Theater. Your staff was very helpful for any needs that arose which helped us to have a very productive training session. Matt Reid of VML programs was very pleased with the facility. He stated that he would like to use the facility again in the future. The Tech Theater has a great layout for training for us when we need to bring in our own visual aids, Also the seats and desk make it good and comfortable when attendees have to sit for long periods of time.
