NOTE:  For the latest on 2024 - 25 FAFSAs, please visit our Financial Aid Updates page.

GET STARTED NOW: The Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step for most financial aid, including federal and state grants, federal loans, and Camp scholarships. File your FAFSA online, be sure to use our school code -- 009159. It takes about a week for us to receive the FAFSA. Your follow-up steps are outlined here in our Financial Aid Student Checklist.

Need assistance completing the FAFSA?  We have computers available on site, so we can help walk you through the process.  See office location and hours at the bottom of the page.

LOOKING FOR A FORM?  Click on “Forms for Financial Aid Students“ on the right side of the page.  You may also sign up for a SAP workshop through this menu item. New for Fall: independent students may log into MyCamp to complete online forms instead!

ELIGIBILITY: To determine if a student qualifies for aid, students must file the FAFSA and meet all eligibility requirements; see “Eligibility for Financial Aid”, at right.  Did you get a DL Offer in your awards?  Even if it says accepted, you must complete 3 steps to have these funds apply to your account. See “Student Loan Program”, at right for steps and form.  Loans must be repaid, with interest, six months after you graduate or drop below half-time.

Please view our updated Financial Aid Handbook for an overview of the Financial Aid Process, including a new section of Frequently Asked Questions.

ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED: Financial Aid works on a “paycheck theory” that the student earns the aid by attending from beginning to end, and receiving passing grades. Students must successfully complete the semester to avoid owing aid back and/or losing eligibility for continuing aid.  Please see the Satisfactory Academic Progress and Treatment of Title IV Aid When a Student Withdraws policies in the College Catalog.

REFUNDS:  Expecting a refund for a financial award, scholarship, or dropped course? Avoid waiting in lines at school offices and take control of the refund process online. Paul D. Camp Community College offers two electronic refund choices through our partner, Nelnet Campus Commerce).  Manage your account at https://online.campuscommerce.com.  Need help logging in? Our Business Office staff are available during normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., by phone at 757-569-6710 and 757-569-6701.

WANT MORE FREE MONEY?  Apply early:  Grants are free money that does not have to be repaid, as long as a student attends from beginning to end, and earns passing grades. Students who meet the priority FAFSA deadline (listed below) for their first semester each academic year may qualify for state grants in addition to Pell Grant and/or loans.  Priority filing deadlines are:

Fall Aid: June 1

Spring Aid: October 1

Summer Aid (*see note below): April 1

*Summer students should check the SIS for any Pell Summer Trailing awards on April 1, and compare the award to actual tuition charges, once enrolled.  Students who are not eligible for Pell Grant and those who have been enrolled 12 or more credits for both Fall and Spring may need to submit a Summer State Grant Application by the deadline listed above, for full consideration.
