Professional readiness is the ability to work well with others and display situationally and culturally appropriate demeanor and behavior. Degree graduates will demonstrate skills important for successful transition into the workplace and/or pursuit of further education.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply appropriate verbal and non-communication skills/techniques for an job interview
  • Articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written form
  • Apply technology to create/develop a variety of assignments
  • Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to analyze real-world scenarios

Sample: Students who are considered prospective graduates. This group includes students enrolled in a degree program, who have earned 40 or more credits and are enrolled in CST 100, ENG 111, HIS 121, HIS 122, HUM 220, ITE 152 and MTH 154. Assignments for these students will be collected regardless of instructional modality (online, hybrid, in-person).

Measures:

Direct- Professional Readiness will be assessed utilizing course-embedded assignments. The course-embedded assignments will be collected from the following general education courses: CST 100, ENG 111, HIS 121, HIS 122, HUM 220, ITE 152 and MTH 154. Student work will be evaluated with a rubric using an internally created rubric.

Indirect- Camp’s Graduate Survey and the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE)

Target: 80% of students will score a (3) or higher, on direct assessment, which demonstrates proficiency.
