Program Purpose:

This program is designed to provide students basic skills in the field of general industrial maintenance and repair.  The student will develop skills through theory and a hands-on approach to learning.

What will I learn?

Students successfully completing this program will be able to…

  • Perform safety maintenance checks and techniques for Industrial equipment.
  • Identify a variety of schematic symbols and how to interpret schematic drawings.
  • Calculate direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) circuit loads.
  • Demonstrate a weld with a horizontal bead, flat bead, tee, lap, and corner joint.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the refrigeration cycle.

How long will I need to be in college?

A college-ready student attending Camp full-time can complete this career studies certificate in one academic year (two semesters). 

What job or career can I get with this career studies certificate?

Upon completion of the program, graduates will possess the knowledge and skills required for various careers such as:  maintenance mechanics or maintenance technician.
